De Amicis' text

Pinerolo, città di charme

Who wrote this is Edmondo De Amicis, that lived in Pinerolo and devoted a book to the town: "To the doors of Italy". The writer wrote it from the belvedere of Villa D'Aquilant, now called "La Graziosa", on the hill one of San Maurizio (near Casa Carla B&B).
In his words there are different important data: the lowland, that ends to Pinerolo in this angle of the Province of Torino; the two valleys that from Pinerolo flow in the plan (Val Pellice and Val Chisone, from the names of the two homonym rivers, but there is also another small valley, that of the Lemina); distant and magnificent, the Cothian Alps that divide Italy from France.
